AP Studio Art Concentration 2016
My concentration focuses on revealing myself through a series of self portraits. By using different media and ideas, I hope to bring out my best qualities and things about me that may spark interest in others. In the beginning of my concentration, my ideas were very simplistic. My first piece depicts a basic self portrait of me. My next few pieces simply show some things that I like, such as piano and the beach. However, the further I went, the more deep my concentration became. I started incorporating writing, my own poetry, and book quotes to dig a little deeper in revealing who I am. One of these pieces highlights the importance of being brave in my life. I have gone through moments where bravery is the one thing I can hold on to, such as dealing with anxiety. My last few pieces, such as my tenth piece, reveals where I dream of being in my future, in the crazy city of Los Angeles. Included in that piece is some writing explaining why I want to be there. My eleventh, titled " To Travel is To Live" contains some of my written poetry and shows my desire to travel the world and see all the places I can while I am here. Finally, going even deeper, my last peace, titled "A Train of Thought" exposes what I feel and think about when I write down my thoughts at the end of the day with my use of previous journal entries.
